Nasa's Granny Guru - Jean Newell

From Real Estate to NASA - After 35 years in real estate, Jean Newell was faced with starting over after the U.S. economy came crashing to its knees. Jean is a shining example of how you can change your life if you 'Never Give Up'. She reinvented herself even while dealing with a medical problem that limited her options and mobility. Living in Melbourne, Florida (near Kennedy Space Center) on the east coast also known as the Space Coast, the job market relies heavily on the Space Program which will generate an estimated 6,000 - 9,000 layoffs when the program closes. Even though Jean doesn't have a degree and "on paper" would certainly not have looked like a good risk, she has turned her adversity into a business Cinderella story. Recently NASA selected her to be a mentor and trainer for their entrepreneurial training program put in place to retrain their laid off engineers. Because she's 63 years old she is now known as "NASA's Granny Guru". Jean hopes others hear her story and realize that if she was able to overcome adversity then perhaps they, too, can gain the confidence to turn around their situation. Her new book will be coming out soon, "Turn Your Pink Slip Into A Red Hot Business". Tune in to hear her story.

It's A Dog's Life

In 1996, Allen and Linda Anderson started over and founded the Angel Animals Network to use the power of stories to increase love and respect for all life. One book turned into a popular, award-winning series of thirteen animal books and have sold over a quarter-million books. In 2004 they were awarded a Commendation from the Governor for their contributions as authors to the State of Minnesota. Their work has been featured in national wire service articles, NPR, ABC Nightly News, USA Today, the Washington Post, Animal Planet, the Montel Williams Show, the Today Show, and BBC radio. They consult with businesses on how to be more pet friendly and win customers in the $47 billion pet product industry. Allen and Linda live in St. Louis Park in controlled chaos with a rescued dog, 2 rescued cats, and a cockatiel who says, “I love you, sweet baby.”
